Hopefully I am showing you the last pictures of a Pepper home update. We decided our living room needed a little “pick-me-up”, since we had the same décor for about 5 years now… actually longer because some of that stuff I had in college!!! So, anyway, a little paint and a few pictures later, Viola!!
Had to show a close-up of my artwork, because I am really proud of it!! If you know me and the crazy perfectionist I am, it took me forever to decide what I wanted to do and then to pull it all together….
We also have the work of a real artist displayed! You can’t see this pic in the “room view” shot above, but this is what is on the other side of the clock. A very talented Mr. Glenn Worsham recreated this photo of Talin’s dad. The painting turned out fabulous, and Mom and Dad surprised us with it over Christmas. Thanks, Mom and Dad!
I also have new curtains, but I don’t have a picture of them because they aren’t completely finished!! I need a valance! Anyone have any fun ideas?? Right now I have sage green sheers and brown panels, but that’s about as far as it goes.
Now we can finally take a rest from improving 4907 8th… at least, that is my vote, but I think I have some more convincing to do with my partner in crime. He is the one “addicted to the shindig”. I do have to say that I really enjoy the final product, just not the process.
In other news, things are going really well. I can’t remember if we ever posted that Talin had a job to start September 2010???? It is true, he has signed a contract to work with University Medical Center after graduation. He is really excited about it, it will be in the hospital here in Lubbock, and it is exactly what he was hoping to do, so he is really thankful that he got that job. Right now he is doing another clinical rotation at a clinic in town. He is really learning a lot from his instructor there. He will go to Amarillo for the most part of March through May for his last rotation. Don’t worry!! We have a roommate, so I will not have to be here by myself. (I’m still not really looking forward to it though) One of Talin’s childhood friends is getting married to a really sweet girl named Whitney in June, and so she is staying with us this semester, this helps them not to have to rent two apartments, and helps me to feel better about being home without Talin. So, everyone is happy!! Whitney teaches first grade in Ralls, so we can come home and rant about our crazy children, and it all works out!
My year is going really well. I only have 17 kids right now, which is a small classroom size for Levelland, but really nice for us teachers!! My kids are great, and I just can’t believe how much they are learning! I can’t believe it is almost February.
Nothing much else is going on. Talin will have his graduation ceremony on May 22 because they do not have a ceremony in August. He will still have to do about 9 more hours in the summer, which will be mostly preparation for the State Board Exam. He can’t officially begin practicing as a Physical Therapist until he passes his board.
So, there is a Pepper family update!! Hope all is well with you and yours!
