TWILIGHT!! November 22, 2008

Filed under: Family Updates — Talin @ 4:07 pm

Girls Night was better-than-perfect last night. In case I haven’t discussed this with you already, Nicole introduced me to the Twilight series over the summer. It’s actually a “young adult” series by first time author, Stephenie Meyer. When she told me that I should read it, I said “I am not reading a book about vampires. That sounds lame.” But, I ran out of interesting books, and decided to give it a try- then couldn’t put it down! Pretty soon, I had my cousin Lindsey, and a couple of teachers from school joining in the obsession. Of course their first reaction was the same as mine- “Vampires? No way….” But I am telling you that I do not know one person who has read these books that didn’t enjoy the story. So, that being said, if fantasy stories have ever piqued your interest, you should definitely pick this one up…. and then call me to discuss! Anyway, the movie was really good… Nicole drove up to go see it with us. After the movie, all 8 of us came back to the house to eat cookies and Hot Wassail and talk about the show. Now, do me one favor, do NOT go see it unless you read the book- because then you would definitely miss some things and you might give it a rating such as those ignorant critics give… and also, realize that the movie cannot possibly include all of the amazing details that the author did. Okay, here is a picture of all of us crazies in our Twilight shirts:

I had so much fun with all of you!!!!!!!!! Let’s do it again next year or whenever New Moon comes out!!!!!!!!!

Okay ~ Cari has told me about this series but I just dismissed it because I was uninterested in reading a book about vampires. I have only heard great things about it. Do you have the series? If you do, can I borrow the first one? I guess I am going to have to give them a try.

wow! It was an amazing night! What fun! I was so sad at the end of the movie, not just because the movie was over, but because I don’t know where I will be next year. I sure hope that I get to do it again with all of you when New Moon comes out! Which, by the way, I can’t wait for. After seeing it on Friday, I couldn’t stand it and had to go again on Sunday!! It was even better the 2nd time around! Now that I’ve finished all of the books, life is really sad, I miss my dream world!
