Patience is a Virtue October 9, 2008

Filed under: Family Updates — Talin @ 3:02 am

It’s been a good 2 weeks since we have posted, and much has changed as far as the kitchen goes. We have been living in chaos, with our cooking stuff all in the guest bedroom… and yes, we are still cooking (most days). So, that has been buckets of fun. I am just ready for things to be back in their normal places… Painting is almost complete… a huge THANK YOU goes from our hearts to LaRhea for coming up here last weekend while we were out of town and painting for us. She is pretty much the best Mother-In-Law ever!!

Now, on to the exciting part- PICTURES!

Talin sanding the side of the cabinet where some brilliant person glued formica on it.

Wow- he aged so quickly! Now we know how handsome he will be when he turns gray.

Talin says: “How do you manage to get paint all over every inch of you???”

Getting close!!!!!!!!

The countertops came in!!! They were supposed to take 10 weeks, but they only took 6(Thank you, Lowe’s!), so we are planning on installing them this weekend! The countertop color is called “Cocoa Leather”. The wall paint is “Chocolate Cheesecake” (sounds yummy, huh?!) and the cabinet color is “Foxtrot”.

Here is our list everything else to do before it is totally complete:

  1. Countertops installed- with NEW stainless steel sink and pull out faucet!!
  2. Tile
  3. Hardware for cabinet doors- **anyone know somewhere you can get a REALLY good deal on hardware?**
  4. Lighting- I REALLY want to do black track lighting in the breakfast nook with 4 or 5 pendants, but that is looking REALLY expensive… **Anyone have track lighting expertise???**
  5. Pull-out trays for bottom cabinet shelves (We can’t reach anything in the back of those right now, so that will be a HUGE help!)

I just wanted to throw this last picture in so that none of you will try to come visit me. Unless you want to sleep with all of our dishes J

I will take some more pictures once we get the tile down!
