Kitchen = Disaster Area (plus babies, babies!) September 23, 2008

Filed under: Family Updates — Talin @ 12:58 am

It’s coming along. Slowly but surely. This weekend we bought a fan for the kitchen, paint, and all the necessities to paint with. Nicole flew to Lubbock to visit us and we put her to work! Koby and Lindsey came over and helped also… We had a great time painting… and the walls look great! (Not so much against the honey-colored cabinets, but that will change soon!) Here are some pictures of us doing the primer coat.

Here is Koby hanging half out of the attic, assisting with the fan installation.

Yay!!! No more melting while you cook!

The paint is finished…. I guess we will have to do crown molding since we apparently can’t paint a straight line between the ceiling and wall.

So, the next step is sanding the cabinets… which I am dreading because that means a layer of dust will be all over everything in the farthest, tiniest crevices of our house. Booooo!!!!! I hate cleaning! So, I am trying to convince Talin to save all the sanding for Saturday so that I will only have to dust once instead of everyday. Yes, I know you are quite shocked that dusting is not one of my daily chores. If you have been to my house, you wouldn’t be so surprised! I am getting ready to get this thing rolling and completed. It really stinks living with your microwave and table in the living room and spice rack in the guest bedroom…. So, if anyone is going to be really bored on Saturday, there is plenty of sanding to be done!

I thought I’d throw in a few more pics that we’ve taken since the last time I posted. The picture below is of me while we were watching the Cowboys first football game!!!!!!!! Football Season is finally here! We have been reveling in their games, especially last week’s victory over the Eagles! (Cason- had to throw that one in for you!)

We also made a quick trip to San Antonio to visit the newest addition to the Pepper Family: Lance Patrick Pepper, born July 11th to Lane and Paula! He is such a sweetie! We are so happy for them! This is a picture of LaRhea holding Lance.

We also have a new addition to our “like-family” people: Colson David, born to David and Tiffany Dyess on August 26th! I had to show you this picture because those cheeks are just too much to resist! Talin held Colson last night at small group, despite his fear of babies, and he did great! Of course, as soon as Colson opened his mouth to cry, Talin was trying to hand him off…. We’re going to need some practice on that one! Thank goodness we’ve got plenty of time for that!
